Any mention of the Portuguese's former girlfriend is absent from the recent 'Ronaldo' documentary and the player was blunt with his reasons behind the cuts

Cristiano Ronaldo has delivered a blunt reason behind former girlfriend Irina Shayk being cut from the recent documentary on the Real Madrid star's life.

The pair met in 2010 and dated for five years until reportedly ending their relationship earlier in 2015, with the documentary filmed over the 14 months prior to the split.

'Ronaldo' explores the Portuguese's relationship with his son, the mother of whom has never been named and the player made clear he was in no hurry to go public with her identity

But Shayk is absent despite interviews with a number of his family and friends, with Ronaldo blunt with the reasoning: "Life has good parts and bad parts, and there are parts of one's life that are not important."

Ouch.

When director Anthony Wonke was questioned on the same subject, he hinted at cuts due to length: "We had several shots, even having dinner with Irina... But the movie is short."

Shayk reportedly moved on quickly from Ronaldo with Oscar-nominated actor Bradley Cooper, while this week the Portuguese was linked with the 24-year-old daughter of his agent Jorges Mendes, Marisa Mendes.
