The on-going protest for free education in South Africa, has added another arrest of nine persons after an overnight clash with police on Saturday.
The fracas which followed days after a special team had been set up to combat the situation with President Jacob Zuma threatening to shut down several schools, saw a supermarket looted  and two vehicles set ablaze at the University of the Witwatersrand.

A university spokeswoman, Shirona Patal, confirmed and gave details of the arrest:

‘Of the nine people arrested, two are students at the University of the Witwatersrand, also known as Wits, two are from other universities and five are not students.’
