The state’s Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Alhaji Musa Yeketi, disclosed this yesterday while delivering a speech at the 2016 Day of the National Association of Proprietors of Private School, NAPPS, in Ilorin.
Yeketi, who acknowledged the impact of private schools in complementing the state government’s efforts, appealed to owners of the illegal schools to regularise their operation and those with sub-standard facilities to upgrade or risk sanctions.
Also, Dr. Sally Adukwu-Bolujoko, NAPPS National President, who was represented by the association’s Financial Secretary, Temitope Ajibola, in his speech, asked government to eradicate the multiple taxations private schools were burdened with.
